How do I PAT test a laptop?

As with desk top PCs, extra care should be taken with laptops. The mains charger should be tested appropriately, depending on it's electrical classification, and the laptop itself should be subjected to a thorough visual inspection - taking time to look for cracks that expose mental parts, or evidence of excessive heat (warping) of panels or the battery itself.
