IEC leads should be tested as an individual appliance and recorded and labelled as such. Most are Class 1 (earthed) and must have a visual inspection, earth continuity test and insulation resistance test. Most PAT testers have the facility to plug both ends of the lead into the tester, to make these tests as quick and easy as possible.
